- All sorts of stuff, just a bit low in the texture mapped 3d department.
- This state of affairs won't last long, though.
-
- >Wing Commander?
-
- Er. Well, actually, yes. #1, anyway.
- Hopefully Starfighter is still on the cards?
- (There's worrying mutterings coming from that direction)
-
- >Crusader?
-
- Crusader.. Hmm, haven't heard of that one..

- Jeez, Origin need to get hold of a decent image scaler..
-
- Okay, it's an isometric scrolling Gauntlet game. So what?
- Yes yes yes, I can see it's a good one, but we have good games too.
-
- >Mechwarrior 2?
-
- Ah, got me there. Yes, we're damn low on Mech games.
- I didn't really like Mechwarrior II, though. Yes, it was fun,
- but it wasn't Battletech. Battletech should be deeper, more
- tactical and tense. MW2 was just Wing Commander on legs.
-
- >How about Civ2? (yeah i know its comming... when?)
-
- There's more Civ clones out on every format than anyone could
- shake an extremely wobbly stick at. Not a major problem.
- (We have Civ[AGA], Colonisation, SimCity 2000, etc.)
-
- >You are talking ancient history. Yeah the amiga was a good machine.

-
- It has rather low games support right now. It -is- supported,
- and we'll hang onto it until it really and truly isn't,
- or until the support returns. It's more than worth it.
-
- >A good computer without software is... well... an expensive doorstop.
-
- Indeed, but we do have software. Less than you, but still lots of it.

-
- Indeed. But now, you talk the ancient history. :)

- >What is your point?
-
- Looks to me like the point is that the Amiga is perfectly well
- supported in this area, as a home computer, at reasonable prices.
- Sure, the IBM has some serious business packages availible.
- The IBM -is- an accountant's adding machine, after all.
-
- Should I have a PowerMac as a home computer for the DTP support?
- If I ever need my home computer to do something obscure with
- a database, I'll write the damn program myself.
-
- >In conclusion: I loved the amiga, it was a great machine.

-
- Check. Not sure about the 'was', though.
-
- >And I would love to see it challenge the pc market,
-
- Feh. Nothing could possibly do that. You might as well expect
- the Roux brothers to challenge the MacDonalds market. :>
-
- >but unless Escom has a golden goose up its sleeve I just don't see
- >that happening. (in the USA)
-
- Well, no. Just as long as the Amiga market lives long and prospers.
- We don't -really- mind not having to share with all of AOL..
-
- >BTW, europeans are not dumb for buying amigas.
- >There is a better amiga software market in europe.
-
- Ah, no-one's dumb for buying an Amiga, assuming they
- don't intend to use it as a business machine.
